Rockroom documentation

A cavelike chapel in the manner of a “period room”, built-out in the center of the exhibition space. The exterior appears to be a white cube, while the interior is excessively ornamented with paneled walls, parquet floor and video projected upon a scrim on the ceiling. The panels are photographic collages of rock walls, all in grisaille. A 8’ high x 8’ wide x 12’ long room; the wall panels inside are photographs of cave walls and vines printed on Tyvek, cut out and collaged. The corners of the room are truncated to create an elongated octagon. The floor is a 3D hexagon pattern made of imitation marble vinyl. The video on the ceiling, rear projected onto a scrim, is of branches waving in a storm.
